RIP Mantequilla

Sadly, Cuban legend Jose Napoles has passed away at the age of 79.

The IBHOF member had an impressive record of 81-7, 54 KO's. Was World welterweight champion in the, late, 60's and 70's.

He fought out of Cuba, then Mexico, before making his name in the USA. He fought some of the best like Custis Cokes, Hedgemon Lewis, Emile Griffith, Billy Backus and Carlos Monzon.

British fans will know him due to John H. Stracey's 'away' upset, which turned out to be Jose's last professional fight.
