Undefeated
Cuban heavyweight contender Luis "King Kong" Ortiz warns Deontay Wilder not to overlook him ahead of their September rematch, following Anthony Joshua's shock defeat in New York on June 1st. Luis Ortiz: We Saw What Happened To Joshua, Don't Look Past Me! - Boxing News Ortiz said“Anthony Joshua said all the right things, but was already prepared to sit down with Deontay after this fight, not even envisioning what he would happen if he lost—which he did. Deontay better start thinking the right way—take that Fury fight off the schedule; your next fight is with me. It’s all I’m thinking about and I hoped you learned your lesson (from Saturday), don't look past me because I’m coming to finish what I started last year.” Is anyone looking forward to this rematch and will it be repeat or revenge? Is this Ortiz's last chance at a world title? I got Bombzquad by KO.
LondonRingRules
Re: "We saw what happened to Joshua, don't look past me!" --- Dunno, bombzsquad just saw $100mil melt before his greedy eyes, about 10x his career earnings. First fight all Kong until the hammer dropped. Dicey times for the big boy division.
gavpowell
Re: "We saw what happened to Joshua, don't look past me!" We did see what happened with Joshua, but we also saw the ancient drug cheat run out of gas after a few rounds, and he's older now.
Ton
Re: "We saw what happened to Joshua, don't look past me!" Same result, probably quicker this time round I'd say.
Cableaddict
Re: "We saw what happened to Joshua, don't look past me!" I think a lot depends on whether Bambi actually learned anything from his pathetic, ego-fueled "performance" against Fury. If he fights smart, and uses the footwork and combinations we've sometimes seen from him in the past, then Ortiz has about as much chance as Ruiz Jr had against Aj. ;-)
