--- Compelling human interest story on a Chinese fighter currently ranked 13th on boxrec as a flyweight.

He is partially deaf and dum and couldn't hold a job in China because of it, but pro boxing has allowed him opportunities...

--- Agree, could be a safety consideration in today's legal oversight, but James "Deaf" Burke had no such worries as a bare Knucks champ.

Nor did Fritzie Fitzpatrick when he knocked down future heavy champ Ezzard Charles. There have been several other high end deaf fighters as well. Not nearly the norm, but they have been in the mix...

Paul Berlenbach was born deaf and mute but he got electrocuted and got back his hearing and then also his speech.

Are you saying we've found a cure? You should tell someone! :haha:

--- Electroshock therapy was used by psychiatrists in my day.

One of my responsibilities was escorting patients to the room and then monitoring their condition afterwards when they are somewhat physically and mentally shot. May still have limited application, but I'm out of that biz for a long time.

Craig Bodzianowski lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. He cameback and fought to a good standard with a prosthetic leg. 'The Gator' was a good contender in the cruiserweight division. He challenged Robert Daniels for the WBA title, going twelve rounds.

--- Thanks Stan!

Wen is a good boxer, but the Chinese have a way to go to learn how to fight. The Filipino reminded me of Bobby Chacon, not the greatest boxer, but one helluva a fighter giving up natural attributes in most every fight. Hope the best for both the fighters...
