Re: Done DZAN Deal-Tomasz Adamek vs Big Baby Miller

watch his most recent fights and he isnt totally done like for example robert guerrero who had no punch resistance left and looked uncoordinated and off-balanced later on.

Even in his KO loss against molina, he was 5 points up.

But I do think he is too old and too small to fight in a war of attrition against a big 300 pound dude in Miller. Miller isnt the hardest puncher, but he is constantly pressuring and

doesnt give you any rest.

That's just the problem-he is better than most heavyweights technically, but one good punch and he's gone. Can't take the punches of the big men.

Despite the negative response to this fight from hardcore boxing fans, if we look at it from a casual fan's point of view, this fight is guaranteed to end in a stoppage and will most likely end up going doing well from an entertainment standpoint.

I do question Big Baby's KO power, he seems to be a guy that wears people down with volume and pressure as opposed to having concussive KO power. I think there should be pressure on him to make sure he ends the fight with a KO and not a ref/corner stoppage.

Read they tried to make a Szpilka fight first but was turned down by the Pole. The fight is in Chicago, so, likely, plenty of Polish fans buy tickets. Smart move by Hearn. Miller knows he's in a queue to get the Joshua fight. Is working with Hearn, wouldn't be surprised to see Jarrell as Joshua's first US fight next year.

Re: Done DZAN Deal-Tomasz Adamek vs Big Baby Miller

Miller tends to win fights by stumbling forward and falling on his opponents with his arms outstretched.

- And Adamek is small enough that this will likely happen again.

Miller's resume is obviously being fattened up, to make him yet another pushover opponent for AJ.

One more excuse for delaying the inevitable beatdown from Wilder. :music:

Exactly right. Hearn knows a Polish opponent will be a ticket seller in Chicago and Adamek should be a showcase opponent at this stage in his career. I am sure they will keep Miller ticking over (and being shown on Sky Sports as part of the DAZN deal) to ensure he is a viable opponent for Joshua's US debut (assuming no Wilder fight).

Does anyone rate Miller?

Not me.

Not at all.

He's only got where he is by virtue of a titanium chin, and "decent" power despite fairly slow hands. (Well, a passable jab, to be fair.) He has no skill, no accuracy, no defense, nothing. But you can't hurt him. Wach & Washington both tee'd off on his face like he was a heavy bag, and he didn't even blink.

He can't be put down, so he keeps plodding forward, blocking punches with his face, & throwing lots of looping, inaccurate shots, until his overmatched opponents finally succumb. (Or the paid-off ref gives him a gift TKO.)

Seriously, that's Miller. That's all there is.

Miller weighed in at a whopping 317lbs. Adamek weighed 227lbs.

I know Miller likes Hamburgers but he can't be training properly. That he's been sparring with Adam Kownacki says a lot. If Adamek can get to the later rounds, Miller could collapse from exhaustion.

--- Hey, Rob, good fight, but geez, just when we think boxing can't get any worse, Miller blasts past 300 like it was no more than a night out on the town.I have to think if when he gives up boxing, he'll be pushing 500 within a fortnight, however at his level today he has never been out worked in the ring, the only parameter that counts in this fight. And he's the kinda guy nobody wants to tell him that he's fat. Adamek at age 42 soon, man he's got his work cut out for him. Interesting to see Eddie there promoting his fight. This could kickoff a new era of boxing, so let the beatings continue. --- Sad news, but perhaps a saving grace if Tomasz finds a soft spot to land with a winnable retirement fight in Poland.

Precious few are more accomplished, but he's done enough for the Halls of Valhalla, so enjoy.
