Guy just doesn't seem to sell a boxing match anymore. Shot but glad he's still around. Do you, or anyone else know how much stake he has in Boxnation? I like the channel, but I get it as part of my BT subscription. I think teaming up with BT was a good move, more exposure / bigger audience, and they show some decent fights from the states. Would have thought to run a TV channel, you must have some pretty deep pockets. And with all the above it could or should really boost his stable of fighters / money he can offer top prospects, but Frank is still seemingly quite a way behind Matchroom. So this is why I am questioning just how much of Boxnation, if any he owns? Maybe just has an agreement to showcase his fighters on the station. He has some good names in his stable (see below) and other fighters with potential. He just doesn't have any super stars with huge drawing power like AJ. Biggest name he has is Saunders then its probably Frampton. Cableaddict
Re: Frank Warren to make GGG a huge offer to fight Saunders at a London football stad How funny would it be if Golovkin called Warren's bluff, and accepted? He could take care of O'Sullivan on May 5th and still be daisy-fresh for London in June. Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money, mo' money .......... WTF does Warren do then? Actually let it happen?
gavpowell
Re: Frank Warren to make GGG a huge offer to fight Saunders at a London football stad Do you, or anyone else know how much stake he has in Boxnation? It's complicated, but officially the answer is none because he's probably barred from running a company after several bankruptcies, or maybe it's a tax thing, but basically: Boxnation is owned and operated by Boxing Channel Media, whose majority shareholder was Bill Ives of Rainham Steel. There are 1907 shares: 40 to Francis Warren 40 to George Warren 40 to Faye Warren 40 to Henry Warren 483 to Susan Waren 62 to Queensberry Promotions 692 to Bill Ives or his estate. And a few others with 10 or so shares and a couple of companies with 100 each. The bit that puzzles me is Queensberry's 62, because Queensberry Promotions is owned by Susan and George Warren, but I'm pretty clueless on how these things work. Having read that I now vaguely remember an exchange with you in the shoutbox about Boxnation where you mentioned Rainham Steel being the main player behind it. Explains the name always being a sponsorship, on the ring ropes and on the pads int he corners. So Warren has a farily small stake in it along with his family members. As you said he probably isn't allowed such large ownership of things given his financial history and dealings.

I think many did when Matchroom decided to give boxing another proper go under the leadership of Eddie. There was that period of transition as Matchroom started signing everyone and Warren was in about 3 legal battles at a time. Fighters jumped ship. Then there was the Maloney "breakdown" and Fat Mick really only had all his eggs in the Fury basket and it's like he can't really be arsed in the promotion game :haha: So we are at a stage where Hearn has most of the British talent crop, and with that comes problems because he will have his obvious cash cows (Namely AJ), and then everyone else is dancing for his attention. A stable can on be so big, and when boxers don't think their interests are being put high enough they want to move. And Warren is the next logical man over here.
