LondonRingRules
Re: Jake La Motta RIP --- Poor Jake was no longer LaMotta, a teensy little old man, but he seemed healthy enough which is amazing given his lifestyle and beatings took. Just goes to show, but damn, just look at the size of that noggin and those hands and imagine Sugar Ray having to pound on that raging beast for 5 fights...Rest in Peace brother. http://cbsmix1065.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/jake-lamotta-fiancee-denise-baker.jpg

WelshDevilRob
Re: Jake La Motta RIP Rest in Peace, Jake. 'The Bronx Bull' Jake LaMotta, 95, has sadly passed away. Jake was Middleweigt champion in 1950 beating Laurent Dauthuille, in the 1950 Fight of the Year by Ring Magazine. He had previously held the NBA and NYSAC versions of the World title. He will always be remembered for a series of tough fights with the Great Sugar Ray Robinson. In 1940, Jake handed Robinson his first ever loss (Robinson was 40-0). He also beat great names like Fritzie Zivic and Marcel Cerdan. His final record was 83-19, 30 KOs. His debut was in 1941 and his final fight in 1954. His story is told in the feature film 'Raging Bull'.
