The_budweiser
[h=1]Will Floyd Mayweather Stay Retired?[/h]It hardly came as a surprise when Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather stopped UFC star, Conor McGregor in 10 rounds on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Both Mayweather and McGregor pocketed $100,000,000 and $30,000,000 respectively. The 5 weight champion insisted immediately after the bout that his contest with McGregor was the very last of his career. syrianpitbull
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? Yes most definitely he doesn't have anything left to prove and there are no big pay days after his last fight.
Dave_
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? 100%, he's diminished badly since his last fight so who could possibly he fight/beat that would generate the sort of cash he would desire? The_budweiser
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? Floyd will only comeback for money. No ones interested in a rematch with McGregor. There's only one fighter out there who can generate Mayweather with a huge pay day and its Manny Pacquiao. But, unless Pacquiao screams from the roof top like McGregor did then the match won't happen. I don't see Mayweather fighting again.
Ton
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? I know he's a bit reckless with money, but surely even Mayweather can't squander this much he just made, especially knowing that in future he wont have: A. The actual ability in the ring to guarantee a win B. An opponent or his own reputation to generate such vast income ever again. It makes zero sense for him not to retire, enjoy his wealth and live out his days in idylic luxury.
LondonRingRules
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? --- Bud, the media widely reported before the fight the Conor guarantee as $75 mil given that it was he who actually pressed for the fight and promoted it. Media gets stuff wrong all the time, but that would be a big error. Then there is the unreported PPV % to add to those figures. Then of course the cut to the UFC for allowing a waiver so Conor wouldn't break his contract.
LondonRingRules
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? --- Maybe if Pac beats Horn in the rematch the TUE rematch might be feasible, but Manny could make more $$$ fighting Conor and actually knocking him out within 3 rounds. Gerald
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? Agree with many of the above - I don't see any scenario in which Floyd returns. We needed an exciting and closer first Pacquiao fight for him to come back for a rematch - both in terms of Floyd's pride to need to prove he's the better fighter, and the amount of money a sequel would have generated. grammici
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? I'm sure if another fight came up with a big enough purse, he'd go for "one last bout"
LondonRingRules
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? --- Cotto made prob his biggest purse against Canelo in 2015, $15 mil and turned down several smaller but still lucrative offers afterwards. His "retirement" fight last week for the WBO title against inferior comp netted him $750K, Pretty sure he's getting offers for 10x that as this topic goes forward. So will May though I doubt he ever see close to $100 mill again, but his tax situation is what brought him back for this hoax, and taxes are permanent. selij
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? TBE will stay retired until he gets an offer that he thinks he cant refuse/lose to. His legacy as far as purists are concerned is totally flawed. He's made $$$ but proved fuckall to anyone.

WelshDevilRob
Re: Do you think Mayweather will stay retired? He'll retire and comeback in a few years, if the money is there. He won't face any real legit fighter.
