For those who don't know STV (Scottish) is ITV (English). It's the same company, so UK residents will be able to watch on the SKY or Virgin boxes. The boxing will be shown on STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh.

MGM Scotland have done great to get the boxing on Scottish TV and hopefully the will show a lot more.

STV are also showing a night on boxing this month - final eliminator fight for the British Welterweight title between Iron Mike Towell and Dale Evans live from Glasgow. Towell is the fighter I tipped in the prospect thread, he has a style like Hatton, were hes never out of your face.

Not now going out on Sky 468

‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ live on Youtube tonight

The ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’, which takes place this Saturday October 1 at Manchester’s Lancashire County Cricket Club, will now be broadcast live and free via YouTube, with technical issues scuppering the planned broadcast by the ‘It’s A-Bout Boxing’ TV channel (Sky Channel 468 and Freeview Channel 90).

The new boxing PR channel, set up by former promoter Marcus Anderson Hitchen, has already filmed shows by promoters Carl Greaves and Kieran Farrell, but was aiming to make its first ‘live’ broadcast by airing Asif Vali’s upcoming event. However, unforeseen circumstances mean the show will now be pre-recorded and aired at a later date, although fans will still be able to catch all the action as it happens on YouTube (It's A-Bout Boxing - YouTube or It's A-Bout Boxing - YouTube).

“We were hoping to launch the channel by airing Asif’s show live,” explained Anderson Hitchen, “but we’ve had some technical issues, and also there are various Ofcom regulations that need to be met. We actually believe we’ve met them but we don’t want to make any mistakes and, with the technical issues, we’ve decided to delay the launch.

“It’s unfortunate but it’s not going to delay the channel for too long. In fact, we’ll be airing the recent Kieran Farrell show that we’ve already filmed, next week – either Wednesday or Friday – and Asif’s show will be aired next Saturday. However, as mentioned, we will put Asif’s show out live on Youtube so that people can still view it for free.

“It’s not ideal and not what we wanted but it’s teething problems that even the biggest broadcasters face occasionally. When you start something big like this, sometimes these initial problems occur and it’s unfortunate, but we want to get it right at the very start. We will still be broadcasting live on YouTube though and it’s still free of charge to the fans.

“Although we’ve had these teething difficulties, we are still eventually aiming to be the biggest broadcaster of small hall boxing in the UK. Kieran Farrell’s show is a terrific show and will be worth waiting for, and Asif’s show looks like it’s also going to include some great fights for the fans. So, tune into YouTube for the live event, and catch all the action next week via the ‘It’s A-Bout Boxing’ TV channel.”

Asif Vali, in partnership with Dennis Hobson Promotions present the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ on October 1 at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford (Lancashire County Cricket Club). Appearing on the show will be Bolton’s Osman Aslam; Manchester’s Adam Hague, Darryl Sharp and Matthew Mainwaring; and Ireland’s Con Sheehan.

TheSPORTbible are proud to announce the live streaming of a professional boxing card across our Facebook channel. The event titled "Return of the Hyde" will take place on Saturday 22nd October 2016 at The B.E.C Arena in Manchester.

The showpiece from Lindemann Sports & Entertainment Limited (LSEL) comes hot on the heels from their inaugural event, "Madison Square Comes To Manchester" which took place in June. The promotions second event will feature a headline clash pitting exciting and unbeaten cruiserweight Sam Hyde against ex-Olympian and Commonwealth games medallist, Blaise Menduou.

Hyde returns to the ring after claiming the International Cruiserweight Challenge belt in March. Meanwhile, like his foe, Menduou is also sporting a perfect record. As they say; "someone's 0 has to go!"

As well as the eagerly-anticipated main act, the under-card will feature budding prospects who look to continue their development while pushing on to domestic honours.

If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, following the conclusion of the boxing, the action will move to the dance floor as the After-Party gets into full swing in the purpose built club which will be created next to the boxing arena. Expect special guests, high-end production, good food and live music.

Warren secures 100m TV contract

Frank Warren has landed a massive deal which will televise boxing to millions more viewers in this country.

The promoter’s BoxNation subscription channel has formed an alliance with BT to broadcast no fewer than 70 major British and American promotions a year.

The deal, believed to be worth in excess of £100million, includes an exclusive arrangement with leading US promoters Top Rank and Golden Boy to screen major fights on the other side of the Atlantic.

It enables BT to continue its expansion into sport through huge financial investment in the current boom for boxing in Britain, which now boasts more world champions than either of the traditional powerhouses America and Mexico.

BoxNation and BT will share 30 simultaneous live broadcasts each year. The multi-year deal starts in January. BoxNation will put out another 20 British shows, with at least as many again being beamed from across the Atlantic.

The major fights will be aired on BoxNation’s new pay-per-view platform which was due to be launched by Tyson Fury’s world heavyweight championship rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, from which Manchester’s Gypsy King withdrew to seek help for chronic depression.

Warren says: ‘I believe this is the biggest TV deal in British boxing history. It is very much larger than my previous record setting deal with ITV. It will bring a lot more boxing within reach of BT’s millions of customers through all their outlets. This will put British boxing in front of a much wider television audience, which is tremendous for the sport.’

Warren has been making late-night broadcast inroads into the biggest-name fights in America for some time.

The consolidated US connection paves the way for him to bring to the UK potentially the two biggest of the several blockbuster bouts being hatched for 2017, a rematch of the richest fight of all time between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and the hugely anticipated clash between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.

Re: Free Boxing on UK TV

Well that's good news as I just changed from Sky to BT last week!

I am not sure how this is financially viable though, the numbers don't really make much sense and Warren has hardly got a stable of exciting fighters. I know it also mentions Top Rank and Golden boy in there somewhere so maybe we will benefit from more of their cards live over here on Boxnation.

I wouldn't class it as "Free Boxing" though as you need to be a BT customer and then have the sports pack on top (Which they do offer for free to new customers for 12 months).

[h=1]VIP SECURE FREE TV COVERAGE FOR BOXING FANS[/h]
In the wake of BoxNation’s recent collaboration with broadcaster BT Sport, promoter Steve Wood has detailed more exciting news for fight fans, revealing that a number of VIP Promotions’ shows will be broadcast live in 2017 on the Fight Life TV Channel (Freeview 91 and Sky 468).

Wood has teamed up with combat sports company Tanko, and will be airing shows from Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on the Fight Life Channel, which currently broadcasts other contact sports including Muay Thai and MMA.

As a forerunner to the official New Year launch, VIP Promotions’ upcoming shows this Friday and Saturday (November 18 and 19) at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse are both being filmed, to be shown via delayed coverage on the Fight Life Channel.

“This is great news for boxing fans, on top of the good news about BT Sport getting involved,” explained Wood. “Fans will now have another channel to watch boxing, and it will be free and good quality. VIP shows are up there with the standard of shows that TV companies want. We’re not a small hall promoter anymore, we’re getting up there with the biggest UK promoters.

“So next year, we’ll be doing joint promotions with Tanko and Red Star Boxing, with the shows being shown live on Fight Life. There will be a minimum of four Victoria Warehouse shows, and we’re discussing potential others. There’ll also be documentary type programmes on VIP fighters, to help build their profile.
