Japanese organisationDangan ltd recently announced the launch of www.boxingraise.coma pay to use platform that puts up the Dangan cards among others. Theservice is an online subscription service costing ¥980 a month(about £7.60/$10) and will include not only upcoming shows (moreabout that) but also some some records shows from the past.

Atthe moment the service has three shows in the recordedsection-

Dangan 159, which was held on April 28th 2016 andheadlined by a Japanese Welterweight title fight between NobuyukiShindo Vs Toshio Arakawa (full show herehttp://boxrec.com/show/727354)

Dangan160, which was held on May 12th 2016 and was a double header withRikki Naito Vs Chaiyong Sithsaithong and Koki Eto Vs Michael Escobiaas the co-main events. (full show herehttp://boxrec.com/show/731071)

Thelatest is Dangan 161, which was held on May 31st and was a B Classtournament show, basically evenly matched novices taking part inusually 40-60/50-50 type bouts (full show herehttp://boxrec.com/show/731821).

The recorded footageisn't the full shows (at least not yet) but the top 3 or 4 boutsfrom those cards are available and the plan seems to be to add moreas they go forward.

It's first liveshow comes later this week, on July 15th, which will be Dangan 163.That card will be headlined by Takuya Kogawa defending the JapaneseFlyweight title against Masafumi Otake(http://boxrec.com/show/734625).

The second show will beon July 25th they will be doing a double show with OPBF Welterweightchampion Jack Brubaker defending his title against Suyon Takayama andJapanese Light Welterweight champion Hiroki Okada defending his titleagainst Cristiano Aoqui, with the debut of Kazuki Saito also on thecard (http://boxrec.com/show/734628).

Both of those showswill be shown live, though it's not clear if it's just the uppercardof the whole shows as of yet. From what I understand however both will be "recorded" for watching after the live event as well as being able to watch live.

As well as those twocards fans will also get delayed footage of the July 31stshow “610BOM-BA-YE 8”, headlined by Takayuki Hosokawa defendingthe OPBF Light Middleweight title against Koshinmaru Saito(http://http://boxrec.com/show/735307)and the July 27th Dangan card, Dangan 164, which is aprimarily rookie based card (http://boxrec.com/show/735221).

I'm usually against pay platforms but IMO this is pretty good value. The shows never pop on to youtube, the quality of the recorded stuff is good (was watching it earlier), essentially paying half of a PPV price for 4 shows over the next month and access to some of the back catalogue.

The only Dangan cards NOT FEATURED are the ones which will be televised in part (though was some rumours they will be updated at a later date). As a result the July 28th (Ito Vs Sanchez) and August 8th (Ken Shiro Vs Ouchi) are unlikely to be shown as they are both set to have main events on Fuji TV (from what I understand).

Should be noted I have nothing to do with Dangan or the Boxingraise website, but I do think it's a great concept and by working with other promoters off the bat (Mutoh and Kadoebi Jewel) Dangan have hit the floor running. Hopefully they'll get to cover more shows and build it into a massive outlet for Japanese domestic stuff that isn't covered by Japanese TV (on Fuji, NTV, TBS, TV Tokyo, G+ or Sky A+). A lot of small promoters (Orio, Matsuda, Yokohama Hikari, Harada, HEIWA, Katsumata, Morioka, Taiho, Misako) may see the service as a potential to get their guys some exposure and the thing really could grow massively between now and the end of 2016.

Re: www.boxingraise.com

As far as I'm aware there's no affiliate system and although there maybe one in the future I'm not backing on it. It's not really supposed to be available outside of Japan and you need to faff with translator stuff to make an account. I've not found a way to download the recorded footage (which is what I was looking at do to gain some traffic) but as a research tool going forward it's going to be invaluable.

Re: www.boxingraise.com

More added!

The August 2nd card from Tokyo (http://boxrec.com/show/735218) has been added to the schedule as a recorded card (will be up the next day) as has the OTHER August 7th card at the EDION Area (http://boxrec.com/show/734632)

Not much live content but it seems Kadoebi, Mutoh, Morioka and Green Tsuda are all on board!
