What did you think of Breazeale?

Still don't know how his name is pronounced, is it "Breez-eel"? Lol...anyway, what did you think of his performance last weekend against Mansour and can he be any kind of threat to the current titleholders? I don't know, I thought he looked too static and slow and his balance is not good. He fell twice from what appeared to be slight pushes or light wrestling. He also doesn't look to be in top shape, body-wise. Mansour was better for most of that fight and Breazeale's only moments were in round 3, when he landed a couple big ones on Mansour in the end of that round and round 5, at the end when he staggered Mansour. He does seem to have power.

Solid contender, very limited, would like to see a Mansour rematch it was a really good fight before Mansour bit a massive chunk out his tough. He competes well with all the PBC heavyweights including Wilder, just needs to get in better shape.

Yep.

Like I've been saying for a while now, Breazeale has serious offensive arsenal, but he takes 2-3 rounds to get going, which will be his demise against someone like Parker, Joshua, or Wilder.

He also has very little understanding of defense. His footwork is pretty good though, despite tripping twice on southpaw Mansour's foot. - And his hand speed is MUCH better than a lot of folks seem to think. He just very wisely varies his timing, very rarely throwing at full speed.

He evidently has a new trainer, and that guy was saying good things in his corner during the fight. Now that he has some kind of title, silly as it is, he may be able to attract a really good S&C coach. Having the belt might also actually motivate him tot train harder. There's maybe a 50 / 50 chance that Breazeale could actually turn into a serious contender.

Re: What did you think of Breazeale?

Dominic Breazeale was the heavier by almost 35lbs. His defense was lacking against a wild punching, shorter opponent. To the prospects credit, he got up when dropped pretty hard and he fought back when tagged.

It's a huge shame the cut/swollen tongue caused Mansour breathing problems. A rematch would be good but Breazeale can claim to have passed a stiff test albeit in unsatisfactory circumstances.

Dominic Breazeale hopefully has learnt what he needs to work on.
